Acceptance conditions and guidelines for preparing an
Manuscript in a scientific-specialized journal
"Journal of Drought and climate change Research (JDCR)"
The "Journal of Drought and climate change Research (JDCR)" is published by the Drought and Climate Change Research Group of University of Birjand as a quarterly (4 issues per year) and electronically. This journal will present the results of basic and applied research in the fields related to water engineering, agriculture, geography, environment, civil engineering and other related sciences. In this journal, the findings and researches in the field of drought and climate change and management solutions and adaptation to drought and climate change will be considered and accepted.
"Because the language of the journal is Persian and English, the journal is ready to receive valuable manuscripts by researchers in Persian and English."
*** In the "Journal of Drought and climate change Research (JDCR)", for the first four issues from the start of publication and before the ranking of the journal, reviewing and printing of manuscripts is free, and all costs are paid by Birjand University.
Review process of manuscripts:
In the "Journal of Drought and climate change Research (JDCR)", for each manuscript according to its topic, a specialized editor is appointed by the chief editor from among the members of the editorial board of the journal. The specialized editor sends the manuscript through the site to several related reviewer. After receiving the opinions of the reviewer, their opinions are summarized by the specialized editor and the chief editor. Guide for Authors to prepare manuscript (writing method)
- The text of the manuscript should be written in a maximum of 15 pages with dimensions of 21 ×8 cm (A4) with a margin of 2.5 cm on the sides and one line of space between the lines in legible letters and typed in a single column.
- All pages of the manuscript, including pages with figures, tables or images, must have the same spacing and have page numbers. All the lines of each page must also be numbered (the numbering of the lines on each page should start from number one).
- Footnote numbers on each page must start from number one.
It is necessary to upload the following files by the authors during the initial submission of the manuscript:
- Original manuscript (without authors' names)
- Specification sheet (authors specifications)
- Letter to the editor (letter of commitment)
- conflict of interest disclosure form
After reviewing, it is necessary to upload the following files by the authors:
- Manuscript file (modified)
- The highlighted changes Manuscript file, where the changes made by the reviewers are marked with a separate color
- Response to the reviewers: in which the comments of the reviewers have been answered separately and in detail
Different parts of the manuscript should be prepared according to the following principles:
- Specifications page:
The title of the manuscript along with the Specifications of the author(s) including name and last name, academic rank, field of study, place of service and the place and date of the research should be written on a separate page, without number. Also, it is necessary to mention the phone number (preferably mobile), fax and postal address along with the email address of the corresponding author on this page. The number and specifications of the authors must be completely consistent with the persons registered in the system as authors.
Note:
Be careful in determining the corresponding author and the order of the authors' names. After submitting the manuscript, it is not possible to change the corresponding author or add or subtract the names of persons or change the order of the names.
- Manuscript title:
In addition to the specification page, the title of the manuscript should be mentioned at the top of the first page without mentioning the name of the author(s). The title should be short, explicit, and comprehensive and express the topic of the research and should not exceed 20 words.
- Abstract:
The abstract should include all the components of the manuscript [introduction (indicating the purpose), materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion].
- Keywords
Between four to six keywords that specify the content of the manuscript and are different from the words used in the title of the manuscript.
- Introduction
In this section, a brief statement of the problem, research history related to the research, the necessity of the research along with the desired purposes of the research should be given.
- materials and methods
In this section, sufficient and explicit information should be provided about the place and method of conducting the research along with the methods used in measuring, collecting and processing and analyzing the data. Please do not entirely describe the methods of adaptation research and only mention its sources.
- Tables and figures
- Tables and figures should be comprehensive and expressive and not repeat the information presented in the text.
- The title of the table should be given above and the title of the figures below it and should be entirely expressive of the results presented in the table and figure and should include definitions and necessary information, so that the reader does not have to refer to other parts of the article to understand the table or figure. Strictly avoid writing titles in brief.
- Each table is separated from its title by a horizontal line above and from the rest of the text by a horizontal line below. Table headers (column titles) are also distinguished from the table text by a horizontal line.If necessary, use horizontal lines inside the table header box to divide the table header. Do not draw any vertical lines in the table.
- Regarding figures, you can use black and white or colored patterns.Avoid putting a frame (margin) around the figures.
The scientific name of all terms and specific names should be mentioned in parentheses after their common names in italics when they first appear in the text.
- Units:
All data should be based on metric (SI) scale.
- Equations:
In case of presenting mathematical equations, all components of the equation must be precisely defined. Formulas should be typed accurately and if possible with an equation editor and numbered from beginning to end with numbers in parentheses.
- Results and discussion:
In this section, the findings of the research should be expressed in a way that makes the reader understand the data presented in the text, figures and tables. Avoid using words such as diagram, graph, map, image, etc. and use only the word "Figure". All data should be presented in only one form (figure or table).
- Conclusion:
The final conclusion of the research findings considering the objectives of the experiment.
- Acknowledgment:
If it is necessary to thank institutions and individuals, this section should be included under the title of acknowledgment before the list of references.
- References
- If references are written and inserted with EndNote software, there is no need to observe a specific reference type. Otherwise, APA format should be used.
- When referring to references, names of persons at the beginning of the sentence should be avoided as much as possible, and references should be presented at the end of the sentence and in parentheses, such as (Mohsenin, 1986). If a reference must be cited at the beginning of the sentence or in the middle of it, after writing the author's name, the author's name and the year should be given in parentheses such as: Mohammadi (Mohammadi, 2001), Samuel et al (Samuel et al., 2009), Smith and Samuel (Smith and Samuel, 2009).
- To separate references at the end of the sentence, use a semicolon ";" such as (Smith, 1999; Samuel et al., 2008; Smith and Samuel, 2009).
- The list of references should be arranged in alphabet order of the last names of the authors of the article.
- When several works of the same author are used, the numbering of these articles should be done according to the year of their publication (from old to new).
- The English title of Persian articles and publications should be in accordance with the website of the publication itself and strictly avoid from translating them.
- The names of all scientific journals must be given in full. Avoid abbreviating the names of journals.
- The names of scientific journals should be mentioned in full and in italics. The name of the book, the title of projects and articles other than scientific journals are also mentioned in italics. Only the first letter of the title and its subsections are capitalized and the rest are lowercase.
